We are pleased to announce our new Pathways programme for international students aged at least 16 years .
The programme offers the opportunity for students to begin to prepare for A Levels and other post 16 qualifications (eg BTEC,IB, Foundation), accustoming themselves to education in Britain, and at the same time to achieve their English Language qualification (usually IELTS).
There are three routes:
Route Entry Level (minimum) Starting dates Course length
A B1 (IELTS 5.0) January, or September 6 terms(2 years)
B B2 (IELTS 5.5) January 5 terms
C B2 (IELTS 6.0)
Previous study at Level 3 (eg ALevel) January ,or September 3 terms (1 year)
For all three routes students will also need a good senior school certificate from their own country.
The course structure depends upon the age and previous academic record of each student, which is discussed before commencement. In general the three routes have these structures:
Route A (6 terms)
Term one: Intensive English Language preparation for IELTS
Terms two and three : IELTS plus pre-sessional academic preparation in three subjects (eg ALevel)
Terms four, five and six: Academic preparation in three subjects
Route B (5 terms)
Terms one and two: IELTS plus pre-sessional academic preparation in three subjects (eg ALevel)
Terms three, four and five : Academic preparation in three subjects
Route C (3 terms)
Terms one, two and three : Academic preparation in three subjects
Key features
Students receive at least 25 lessons a week , taught individually or in small groups, for all programmes ;
In addition to English we offer a choice of over 30 subjects for ALevel or other examinations ;
We offer flexibility within the three routes… some students, for example, may take a summer vacation programme , which shortens the length of the course;
Most students will complete their programme within one to two years , which is less than the time usually taken for IELTS followed by ALevels and other examinations, and hence the overall cost is reduced.
Accommodation is arranged in Oxford and further information is available on request.
Fees
Fees are per term of 12 weeks, payable termly in advance:
• Intensive English Language preparation for IELTS £4080
• IELTS plus pre-sessional academic preparation
in three subjects (eg ALevel) £8640
• Academic preparation in three subjects £7800
For students taking fewer or more than three academic subjects an appropriate adjustment in fees is made.
OISC offers a number of scholarships each year of up to 50% of tuition fees, based on a student’s academic ability and potential.
The usual commission applies to recognised agents who are registered with us.
Oxford International Study Centre (OISC) is situated in the very heart of the University city, between the City Hall and Christ Church, Oxford’s most famous college.
OISC is recognised by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), COBIS (Council of British International Schools) and ECIS(European Collaborative for International Schools) .
